Featured Harvest
A distinctly Californian honey.
Toyon Honey comes from the nectar of the California Toyon — a native shrub of the lower Sierra Nevada foothills, found around Oakdale, Jamestown, Chinese Camp, and Sonora. Its character comes naturally from the bloom. This is not an artificial flavor. The result is deep, smoky, and complex — one of our rare seasonal harvests.

Meet the Beekeepers
Cy & Eve, and the bees they tend.
We're Chrisman Apiaries — a husband-and-wife honey business based in Oakdale, California. Honey is part of our everyday life, our work, our home, and the dream we're building together.
Every harvest reflects the bees, the flowers, the weather, the season, and the California landscape surrounding the hives. The bees' wellbeing always comes first — we practice only ethical, peaceful beekeeping, tending our hives gently and never pushing the colonies beyond what they can spare. We keep the honey as close to its natural state as possible — sold completely raw and unfiltered.

Tastes like the valley in summer
I've been buying honey at the grocery store for years and I honestly didn't know it could taste like this. The Wildflower is thick and almost golden, and the flavor keeps changing while you taste it. Floral, then kind of buttery. It actually tastes like a place.

Our pantry staple now
We met Cy and Eve at the Modesto Kaiser market and they were just the nicest people. Talked us through every jar for like twenty minutes and never once tried to upsell us. We came home with the Toyon and now I can't go back to the little bear bottle.

The only honey in my kitchen now
I run a small kitchen and I pour this over burrata, glaze carrots with it, finish a cheese board. Every batch is a little different and my guests notice every time. The notes on the site are actually accurate, which is rare.

Finally, real raw honey
I've bought raw honey before that clearly was not. This one crystallizes on its own and still tastes like something. Farm pickup was easy and Cy came out to hand me the bag. Good people making good stuff.

A gift people actually want
I gave the little flight set to six people this year and every single one of them texted me about it afterwards. Beautiful glass jars, and the story behind it makes it feel like a real present instead of just another food thing.

Came for one jar, left with four
Stopped by their market booth for one Orange Blossom and somehow walked out with four jars. Eve was so warm and patient with all our questions. The Orange Blossom is delicate and bright, perfect in tea. Already planning to grab more.

Why Raw Honey
Honey is much more than just sweet.
Raw & Unfiltered
Sold completely raw. We never use heat on our honey. The natural pollen stays in.
Single-Origin
Each jar holds one California harvest — one bloom, one season, one place.
Seasonal by Nature
Harvests taste different because the flowers change. We celebrate that, not standardize it.
Tasting Notes
Every harvest leaves its own signature.
